Willy Stoewer Naval Battle Scenes Art Prints, Posters and Paintings
(1864-1931). Willy Stoewer was a very prolific German painter creating well over 1000 images in 37 years. Much of his work depicts sinking vessels, naval battle scenes and harbor landscapes. As in all of his works, the convincing depiction of the wind and waves reveals an intimate knowledge of the sea and seafaring. Stoewer was, in fact, the son of a sea captain in the Baltic seaport of Wolgast.
